                              The Ingalls Family

Picture
In 1977, as a young Marine, Larry was led to Christ through the persistent Christian witness of a fellow Marine named Wayne.  Larry's conversion to Christ was in his own words a "radical, life-changing event.  I am eternally thankful for Wayne's unwavering testimony to me at such a pivotal time in my life."

While stationed overseas, Larry was introduced to a network of families who lived all throughout Asia and ministered to him and other Marines, Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen wherever they were deployed.  Through these families' pastoral care and discipleship, Larry's fledgling faith was strengthened and equipped so he could thrive in his Christian life.  These families were all missionaries serving with Cadence International.  This is where Larry gained his burden for ministry to our military, and began preparing toward that goal.

As a student at Biola University, Linda also made the decision to devote her life to service in missions.  Linda graduated from Biola in '83 with  a BA, double majoring in Bible and Music.  Larry and Linda met at their church in '80, were married in '83, and Larry returned to college.

Larry and Linda were appointed as missionaries with Cadence in '85.  Their first assignment was ministering to the Army and Air Force in the Panama Canal Zone.  After more time in school at the Moody Bible Institute, they moved to Japan in '94 with their one year old son, Daniel, and started an eight year ministry assignment with the Navy's 7th Fleet sailors in Yokosuka, Japan.  Their second child, Christina, was born in '96 while in Japan.

In '03 the Ingalls returned to the states and began a seven year tenure at Cadence International headquarters where Larry served in various capacities in mission leadership, including Vice President of Human Resources.

In '07 Larry and Linda had the joy of fulfilling a long time dream of traveling to China to adopt Sarah Li Ann, their third child.

In 2010 the Ingalls departed headquarters and returned once more to field ministry.  They are presently serving 1st Division infantry Soldiers stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas, while staffing the Rivendell House.

Larry is a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute, and his pastoral credentialing is through Grace Evangelical Free Church.  His passion is teaching the Bible and mentoring men.  Linda's joy is to serve others with her gift of hospitality, and to encourage and mentor younger women.

The heart of the Ingalls' ministry to our Soldiers and their families is summed up in 1 Thessalonians 2:8.

"We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God
but our lives as well because you had become so dear to us."
